Welcome to St. Andrew's!

Our school is full of motivated, talented, exceptional students - and our families are an important part of their success. Our job is to nurture your child's growth in every way; spiritually, emotionally, athletically, artistically, and academically. Our well-rounded approach helps our students broaden their horizons, realize unbelievable opportunities, and accomplish their dreams. Our life's work is to make the world a better place - through your children. We invite you to explore the wonderful culture that is St. Andrew's Episcopal School.

WHO WE ARE: St. Andrew’s is an established school that prides itself on rigorous college preparatory academics, community pride, and a reputation for producing the type of people who make this world a better place. The combination of a carefully crafted  curriculum that focuses on our students’ emotional needs as well as their scholastic goals, the purposeful integration of daily Chapel combined with wellness and ethics classes, and a committed, caring, and creative faculty is a recipe for success that can’t be duplicated anywhere else.

WHAT WE ARE: Put simply, we are a family. We take care of one another and our school. We have a committed and strong volunteer force in our families. Parents volunteer at athletic and fine art events, in fundraising and development, in the classroom, the library, and in the lunchroom. Our community is very engaged and present, and we count on their generosity of time and heart to sustain the essential connection between parent, school, and student.

WHERE WE'RE GOING: Our commitment to an all-inclusive education that provides our students with an abundance of opportunities to find their life’s passion has guided our graduates to careers in many diverse fields. Among the many doctors and lawyers are also actors, soldiers, community leaders, artists and writers. We are also proud to have a large number of teachers in our alumni.

What makes us so special?

Our Episcopal Identity —Numerous schools throughout the world were originally founded as Episcopal schools, but as times have changed many have lost or put aside those traditions and foundations that truly embody the Episcopal identity. St. Andrew's is not one of those schools. We fully embrace this identity as defined by the National Association of Episcopal Schools (NAES).

Our extensive Community Service program, required of all students, is an important part of life at St. Andrew's and everyone pitches in (families included!) to help make Austin—and the world at large—a better place to live.

Our Academics are supported by some of the finest faculty in the country. We meet and exceed curriculum goals needed to advance to the next grade level— and eventually to college—but we leave room for teachers to incorporate subjects they are particularly knowledgeable in or passionate about. This makes for a richer learning experience and allows teachers to integrate their own life experiences—from growing up in a foreign country or working in a particular industry—into the classroom.

Our Athletics programs, ranging from required PE in the lower grades to varsity sports at the Upper School, are diverse, competitive, and teach discipline, commitment, good sportsmanship, and teamwork. Our community is spirited and involved and every season we look forward to getting our St. Andrew's families together for our many sports events.

Our daily Chapel program gives our students the opportunity to connect as a community, worship God, listen to lessons and sermons, learn about other faiths, discuss moral and ethical issues, and have the time and peace to reflect upon their day. It is the heart of every day!

Our Fine Arts programs incorporate the visual arts as well as theatre and music. Art, and the role of creative thinking, is a critical part of our curriculum and extends from the first grade through the twelfth. Every year our St. Andrew's families view our many art shows, are dazzled by our incredible theatrical performances, and moved by our beautiful choral recitals.

Our students are shown the world—not just through books, lectures, and film, but through our amazing Junior Experience Travel Program. These travel opportunities combine fun with unique opportunities to learn—a perfect combination!
