Grandparents' & Grandfriends' Day
April 4 & 5, 2012
Grandparents’ & Grandfriends’ Day is a wonderful, memorable experience for all St. Andrew’s students. We look forward to inviting our extended St. Andrew’s families to our school campuses! Invitations will be mailed in early March. If you would like to invite a special friend to Grandparents' and Grandfriends' Day, please contact Brenda Hansen in the Development Office: 299-9714 to make arrangements. We are happy to mail an extra invitation!
- GRADES 9-12 GRANDPARENTS' & GRANDFRIENDS' DAY – Wednesday, April 4
- Schedule of Events
- 9:00-9:45: Coffee and Registration
- 10:00-11:30 am: Attend Classes with your Grandchild
- 11:30 am-12:15 pm: Luncheon with Grandparents and Grandchildren
- 12:20-1:40 pm: Chapel
Valet Parking will be provided
- COCKTAIL PARTY WITH THE HEAD OF SCHOOL & FACULTY – Wednesday evening, April 4
A cocktail reception will be held on Wednesday evening, April 20th, at the 31st Street Campus Nazro Hall (DuPont Room, upstairs – elevators are available) from 6:30-8pm. All grandparents and special friends are invited to attend (parents are also welcome to attend) for wine and hors ‘de oeuvres.
- GRADES 1-8 GRANDPARENT'S & GRANDFRIENDS' DAY – Thursday, April 5
- Schedule of Events
- 8:00-8:20 am: Light Breakfast & Registration
- 8:25-9:25 am: Chapel with your Grandchild (1-6 in Nazro Hall, 7-8 in the Lower School Chapel)
- 9:30-11:00 am: Classroom Time & Activities
- 11:00 am: Dismissal
Parking will be available along 31st Street and in the faculty lot behind the Lower School.
- PARKING
Due to severe parking constraints we strongly encourage parents to drop off, if possible, whether attending events at either the 31st Street or the Southwest Parkway Campus.
- The 31st Streeet Campus
Parking and shuttle services may be available at the Weed-Corley-Fish funeral home on Lamar and in the Wabash parking lot (next door to the Lower School). These arraangements will be determined and communicated closer to the date of the event.
- The Southwest Parkway Campus
Valet parking will be available. Further information will be available closer to the date of the event.
- DRESS
Students must wear dress clothes:
- Boys are asked to wear a coat and tie, dress shirt, slacks, dress shoes, and socks
- Girls are asked to wear dress shoes and a dress, nice pants suit, or a skirt with a blouse
VOLUNTEERING & CENTERPIECES
If you are interested in helping with Grandparents’ Day or would like to buy a centerpiece (multi-colored orchids) for $25, please contact LS/MS Co-Chairs Julie Ballard or Cari Ezell or US Co-Chair Susan Sealy or call Catherine Herter in the Development Office at 299-9809.
AFTERSCHOOL (BTC)
There will be no after school care on Grandparents’ and Grandfriends' Day.
