First Grade Performs Our Lady of Guadalupe
The 30th Annual First Grade presentation of Our Lady of Guadalupe was held on Friday January 13, 2011. Through singing, acting and narrating, the story tells of a simple Mexica or Aztec farmer, Juan Diego, who in 1531 encountered a vision of Our Lady Mary (Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe) on the Hill of Tepeyac (now part of Mexico City). ¡Felicidades primer grado!

Sixth Graders "Defy" Gravity!
A culminating event after the motion and forces unit in sixth grade science is the dropping of eggs from the fifth story Seton parking garage and attempting to have them survive the impact un-cracked. Each sixth grader designed a package for their egg that created minimal force on impact when it hit the ground. This was accomplished by using air resistance to slow the egg with a parachute, by effective packaging around the egg, or the use of both. Over 75% of the eggs survived un-cracked, but alas, a few did meet a gooey fate!
