McInvale, Politz Will Pitch in All-Star Game

For the first time in St. Andrew’s history, Crusaders will take the field at the Austin Area Baseball Coaches Association (AABCA) All-Star game!

Congratulations to seniors Andrew McInvale and Scott Politz, who will represent St. Andrew's on the pitching mound at the Dell Diamond on Sunday, June 14.

Both McInvale and Politz have had exceptional seasons in their final year of high school baseball; McInvale had 43 strikeouts in 42 1/3 innings, with a 1.36 ERA. Politz had 67 strikeouts in 47 1/3 innings pitched, with a 1.33 ERA. Politz will pitch for Yale next year, and McInvale has accepted a preferred walk-on spot at Baylor.

St. Andrew's baseball coaching staff (Head Coach Steven Garcia (’02) and Assistant Coaches Bart Bratcher and TJ Hendricks) has also been selected to coach the South team in the All-Star game.

This is an exciting opportunity for St. Andrew's to be represented among the Austin-wide All-Star participants that include district 6A and other public schools.

St. Andrew’s Director of Athletics Jeff McCrary says, “We hope that Crusader fans of any age will come out to support Andrew, Scott, and the St. Andrew's baseball program.”

Seating is open to the public and admission is only $5.00 for the AABCA All-Star game on Sunday, June 14 at the Dell Diamond. The first pitch is slated for 6:00 pm. Go Cru!
