Cross Country’s Hannah Blake ‘16 Takes 2nd at Invitational

St. Andrew’s Cross Country team gave a strong performance at the Dripping Springs Cross Country Invitational on Aug. 22, with the Varsity Girls team finishing third overall and the Varsity Boys taking fourth.

Hannah Blake ‘16 was the top finisher of the Girls team, placing second out of 32 runners. Hannah was interviewed by MileSplit Texas shortly after the race (View the full interview here)

In her interview, Hannah says this was the first race in which she felt “fully recovered” after her previous ACL injuries. She says, “I paced myself pretty well...it was a smart race,” leaving her full of energy to overcome runners during the final stretch.

Hannah remarks that the Crusaders are going to have a strong season: “We’re going to be so good this year. We’ve had summer training and three weeks of pre-season. We’ve been working hard.” St. Andrew’s will be hosting the SPC’s cross country competition this year, and Hannah has her sights on a Crusader win, saying “I think our team has so much potential and I think we can win it this year.”

Congratulations Hannah and St. Andrew's Cross Country! Go Cru!
