Record Breaking Attendance at 26th Annual Grandparents Day

St. Andrew’s 26th annual Grandparents & Grandfriends Day saw a record-breaking number of grandparents and friends come to campus to revel with students in the daily joy of learning. Faculty and staff welcomed 263 grandparents to the Upper School on February 4, and almost 500 grandparents to the Lower and Middle Schools on February 5.
At both campuses, grandparents and friends enjoyed a coffee reception and welcome remarks from Head of School Sean Murphy before joining students in their classes and chapel services. A condensed half-day schedule gave grandparents a glimpse at a variety of student activities: from tinkering demonstrations in Lower School STEAM lab, to Shakespeare recitations in Middle School English, and religion discussions in Upper School Interfaith Studies. Some grandparents were even spotted joining in the percussion and orchestra classes!

A favorite St. Andrew’s tradition, Grandparents and Grandfriends Day remains a fun reminder to students that learning is a lifelong journey.
