|  | St. Andrew’s is a co-educational Episcopal day school, enrolling a diverse student body of approximately 850 students on two campuses in Austin, Texas. The school strives to help young people from diverse racial, religious, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds to achieve their potential not only in intellectual understanding but also in aesthetic sensitivity, physical well-being, and moral decisiveness so that they may lead productive, responsible lives, not only for themselves but also for their community.
SAS opened its doors in 1952 to grades 1 through 3 with 32 students. In the 60’s and 70’s, expansion of grade levels and increases in enrollment required a major move; the new school relocated to buildings on 31st Street. This campus continues today to accommodate students in grades 1-8. A second campus, 9 miles to the southwest, was built in 1998 for a new Upper School. These two attractive campuses provide exceptional facilities and support for an inclusive community which has established itself as one of Austin’s leading independent schools.
St. Andrew’s embraces the Episcopal identity of intentional pluralism as well as that of spiritual and religious growth integrated into the curriculum and life in the school community. Daily chapel is held in all grades.
