• St. Andrew’s begins in first grade. 54 students are accepted into the first grade.
  • Second through fifth grades are "space available" grades (we must lose students in these grades to accept new ones, we usually have 3-6 openings per grade per year).
  • In sixth grade, we open a fourth section and admit 10-15 additional students.
  • Seventh and eighth grades are also space available grades like 2nd-5th.
  • Ninth grade is an entry point for the Upper School. It is made up of returning students from the St. Andrew's eighth grade and students from around the Austin area and beyond. We generally accept about 50 new students.
  • Admissions for grades 10, 11 and 12 is on a space available basis.

St. Andrew’s tests to enter all grades of the school, therefore, we have an applicant pool rather than a waiting list. Please call the Admissions Office for testing information for each grade.

St. Andrew’s was founded 1952 by three Episcopal Churches: St. David’s, Good Shepherd, and All Saint’s. They each have Pre-K through Kindergarten programs and, out of respect, we do not compete with them.

St. Andrew’s sixth grade is in the Lower School division. The Middle School is seventh and eigth grades only.

St. Andrew’s students in grades 1-6 have Physical Education each day. In first grade, the students have art, music, drama and computer one day a week. In grades 2-4, the students have art and music twice a week and drama and computer once a week. Beginning in fifth grade, the students have art and music for one semester, three days a week and computer one day a week. In sixth grade, drama & art are electives along with choir, strings, computer, percussion, eco-Adventure, and robotics.

St. Andrew's graduates attend colleges ranging from small, liberal arts colleges, to large state universities, to those in the ivy leagues. We also have a number of students who attend international schools. No matter, where they choose to go, our number one priority is to make sure each student is matched with a college or university that is the right fit for his or her needs — both educationally and personally.
