Have you ever wondered goes through a high school senior's mind in May? The St. Andrew's Senior Project gives our students the opportunity to get out from behind that desk and follow a dream, create a work of art, learn more about an area of interest or a career, or work in the service of others for the month preceding graduation. In January, each senior presents his or her own proposal for a unique project. A faculty member is then assigned to sponsor the senior and provide guidance toward successful completion of this graduation requirement.

What have our seniors choosen to do and where? Among a myriad of other projects, our seniors have written and performed original music; created artwork and installed it in children's hospitals; built automobiles; taught second grade; interned in businesses in and beyond Texas; written novels and illustrated children's books; shadowed doctors and observed operations; created entire events or produced original CD's to benefit local charities.

We provide basic guidelines and from there each senior tailors his or her own experience crowning his or her high school career. Three days before graduation, all students and faculty, family, and friends gather in celebration, as seniors formally present their projects to the community. It is a wonderful and meaningful way for seniors to end their experience at St. Andrew's.
