US Students Receive Awards for Top Performances on National Classical Etymology Exam

In November of 2011, twnety-four Upper School Latin students participated in the National Classical Etymology Exam, testing their knowledge of the Greek and Latin roots of English words. Eleven of these students received recognition for their performance on the exam in the form of a gold, silver or bronze medal.

Intermediate Certamen Team Takes 4th at Yale Tournament

Last weekend seventeen students from St. Andrew's went to New Haven, Connecticut for the Yale Certamen Tournament. Competing against schools from all over the nation, St. Andrew's teams made semifinals in all three levels. The intermediate team consisting of Connor Brucker '15, Asa Buehler '15, Nate Eakman '14, Logan Giberson '15, and Alex Lewis '14 received fourth place overall. Congratulations to all and good luck at this weekend's Crusader Classic.

US Speech and Debate Team Shines at Lake Travis Tournament

The SAS upper school speech and debate team particpated in a Texas Forensic Assocation tournament at Lake Travis HS on September 10. The team entered four students in original oratory and four in student congress, and all four students made the finals in each event.
