The Senior Project is the culmination of studies at St. Andrew’s and provides an opportunity to show the best of students’ talents, interests, and research efforts. Seniors are allotted approximately three weeks of class time at the end of the year for completion of the project. Therefore, it is expected that the level of individual investment and rigor of the project will be the same as if the student had spent the three weeks attending class and completing assignments.
In order to be approved, the Senior Project proposal must clearly describe (only) one of the following types of endeavor: (a) scholarly research, (b) scientific exploration, (c) internship in a vocation of interest, (d) service to the community, or (e) a creative endeavor in one of the fine arts. Each senior presents his or her unique proposal reflecting individual interests and goals. With the exception of approved musical or theatrical performances, all projects are individual.
All projects include a product of some sort, a journal, and a presentation to the community. Each senior is assigned a faculty sponsor who endorses the project and vouches for its successful completion.
