Admissions volunteers provide support at open houses and admission events, serve as mentor families, and help market and promote the benefits of a St. Andrew’s education to prospective families. Volunteers are needed to help with chapel maintenance on both campuses and provide set-up and take-down assistance at school wide worship services (St. Andrew’s Day and Lessons & Carols). These volunteers are directed by the Chaplains.
Parent Association Representatives coordinate grade-level activities (class/grade parties, field trips, teacher needs), attend periodic Parent Association meetings, communicate to the Parent Association the status of their classroom and grade-level activities, and uphold the goals set forth by the Parent Association. There is one representative from each homeroom in grades K-5. These volunteers are coordinated by the Parent Association.
The many and varied activities of the Development Office run more smoothly with parent volunteers providing administrative support throughout the year. Activities might include planning small events, envelope addressing and/or stuffing, photocopying and distributing newsletters, managing registrations or RSVP’s, and other details handled by the office. Volunteers are needed on a project basis and would be called with a few days’ notice. These volunteer activities are coordinated by the Development Office.
Volunteers are needed for each of the Lower, Middle, and Upper Schools to plan monthly snacks and special treats for the St. Andrew’s faculty and staff to show our appreciation for their hard work and dedication to our children. These volunteers are coordinated by the Parent Association.
The FOCUS Committee is made up of parents who consider an understanding of diversity and an appreciation for inclusivity to be central aspects of the school’s mission and vision. The committee sponsors an all-school Meet and Greet event in the fall and organizes regular off-campus social gatherings open to both parents and children. Help Deck the Halls and decorate the Southwest Parkway campus and chapel. Decoration day is the Sunday following Thanksgiving, in the afternoon. All decorations are stored at the US. This is organized by Upper School faculty members.
Volunteers will help coordinate refreshments for a variety of St. Andrew’s functions such as Back to School night in September and occasional other events as needed. Volunteers will coordinate food, drinks, hosting, setup, and clean up for specific events. This is an easy way to volunteer because it is not a heavy time commitment. These volunteers are coordinated by the Parent Association.
Volunteers are need to help support the Sage dining staff during lunch hours – think serving soup or working a panini press. Sign-up is by the day, so volunteers can do as little or as much as they are available. This is a great way to see your student. These volunteers are coordinated by the Parent Association.
Sign up to read to your child’s class during their library time! The librarian, Ms. Whitaker, selects the books you will read to the class. Students love having their parents there and reading to their classes.
Theses volunteers have set shifts on a weekly or monthly basis, and help with various library tasks which include helping students select books, checking books in or out for student and teachers, assisting in student research, maintaining the library collections by shelving books, processing new books, reading shelves, and assisting with any special projects. Training is provided.
Volunteers are needed several times a year to sort through Lost and Found items on the 31st Street campus. Volunteers organize days on which items will be displayed for the students before the items that remain are donated to charity. These volunteers are coordinated by the Parent Association.
Volunteering at the front desk is a great way to get to know students and teachers better. At the US, you check students in and out of school, serve as the host/hostess for visitors, and redirect phone calls. These volunteers are coordinated by the US Administration.
Moms and Dads are needed to support our athletics program and celebrate Highlander Spirit! In order to promote good fun and cheer, volunteers are needed to help coordinate concessions and occasional grill outs for athletic events [See Concessions section under Fundraising section for more information] as well as support special Pack The House events on both campuses. Training is provided for volunteers that will help with Game Day photography, scoreboard, music, and books. We also need Team Parents to assist our coaches well as volunteers to coordinate and distribute yard signs for Highlander Athletes that want one. There are many ways to support the PAC, with a variety of time commitments. These volunteers are coordinated by the Parent Association.
Parents will host speakers and discussion groups on a variety of school related or parenting topics. Volunteers help identify topics and speakers, promote the speakers, set up and clean up. Events will take place periodically throughout the year. These volunteers are coordinated by the Parent Association.
Volunteers are needed to help develop and maintain The PARK on the Southwest Parkway campus. The PARK is an outdoor engagement space used by all grades across all disciplines. These volunteers are coordinated by the Director of Outdoor Education, and time commitments vary.
Amateur photographers welcome! Help us capture all the smiling faces on 31st Street and Southwest Parkway campuses. Photographers are needed for school events and/or candid moments on campus. Photographers will submit their specific preferences via survey before the school year begins. Note: A digital camera is preferred for high-resolution, print quality photos. If you don’t own a camera, St. Andrew’s will have some available to use.
Our Visual Arts faculty at all divisions can use help from time to time with special projects and preparation for art shows. Volunteers for Visual Arts Support will be called upon to help faculty as needed and are coordinated by the faculty requesting assistance.
The Rollins Library holds one large fundraising book fair each year. Volunteers help plan the fair, decorate the library, setup books and help children shop and checkout during the fair. Students love this exciting and fun event! These volunteers are coordinated by the librarian.

This fun family event for the Lower and Middle Schools is an outdoor festival on the 31st Street campus and is coordinated by the Parent Association. This event is a great opportunity to reconnect with existing families and welcome new ones! Held in the fall, the event is managed by a team of co-chairs and parent volunteers who coordinate entertainment, food, setup and breakdown.
Grandparents and Special Friends are invited to visit classes and Chapel on this day. Volunteers are needed for registration, touring, setup, and breakdown. This is a light volunteer time commitment. This event is coordinated by the Development Office.
Volunteers are needed to help with logistical needs for 12 coffees with our Head of School and Division Heads. These grade-level coffees are held on 31st Street and Southwest Parkway for parents. Duties include coordinating food and coffee orders with SAGE and room set-up. These events are coordinated by the Development and Communications Office and are held mainly in the fall.
Homecoming is an all-school event culminating with a picnic and varsity athletic games. The event is held at Southwest Parkway. Volunteers are needed for event planning, morning setup, and cleanup. This event is coordinated by the Parent Association.
Project Graduation is an all-night event coordinated by senior parents dedicated to providing their teens with a safe opportunity to celebrate graduation. Volunteers will assist with planning, organizing, and chaperoning. Multiple shifts are available. This event is coordinated by the Parent Association.
Our school celebrates our patron saint, St. Andrew, in late fall. This special day includes a Holy Communion Service, lunch on the Nazro Green, and a community-wide service project. This event is held at Southwest Parkway and volunteers are needed to assist with setup, lunch service, and breakdown. This is a light time commitment and a wonderful school wide event. This event is coordinated by the Development Office and Upper School staff.
The Parent Association receives rebates when St. Andrew’s parents and friends shop on Amazon Smile, use area businesses’ loyalty cards and collect Box Tops. This is an easy way to raise funds without any additional out-of-pocket money spent by parents. Volunteers are needed to coordinate and publicize these fundraising opportunities. Concessions and the Spirit Shop share a physical location at the 31st Street campus and work in tandem. Positions include: Concessions and Spirit Shop Inventory Coordinators, Purchasing Coordinators, Treasurers and Volunteer Coordinator. Volunteers are also needed to work the Concessions/Spirit Shop during games and on other select days when the shop will be open. This is a great way to volunteer if your child is participating in a sporting event or if your Middle School student needs service hours. There are numerous opportunities with a wide variety of time commitments. This festive event raises money for the St. Andrew’s Financial Aid program and is our only community-wide fundraising event. Volunteers are needed for multiple committees such as: underwriting, live auction, silent auction, decorations, reservations, food, signage, music/band support, PR, and logistics. There are a lot of fun opportunities to help with a variety of time commitments. This event is run by the Development Office.
