Home Learning

This webpage reflects St. Andrew’s commitment to continuing our educational journey – virtually. We remain fully devoted to your students and their learning experience and hope this plan provides some additional clarity as we move forward in the days and weeks ahead. These are uncharted waters, but we are blessed with a creative and talented group of educators who are working around the clock to ensure that we have continuity and consistency during this time.

On this page are your student’s home learning guides by Division, links to other resources and helpful webpages throughout our SAS site, and other updates. This is our home base for awhile, so please bookmark it. In addition to this page, you will receive emails and other communications from your student’s Division Head, teacher and/or advisor.

The cornerstone of our Home Learning Program is connection: between students and teachers, students and their peers, and our community as a whole. The excerpts you see on these pages are a tiny fraction of the outreach and connection our students are having with their teachers and peers during their time away from campus. While the situation is an imperfect one for us all, St. Andrew's faculty and staff are working hard to make sure that every child remains connected and engaged.

Our team is fully prepared to serve you, so please don’t hesitate to reach out. We know there will be many inconveniences, challenges, and frustrations in times like these. However, we have a feeling we will gain more than we lose – a boost in creativity, creative thinking, problem solving, deeper connections with our families and friends, and more that we have not yet imagined.
"Of all the rapid approaches I have observed over the past month in response to COVID-19, St. Andrew's Home Learning Curriculum represents a whole-child approach to learning while supporting the community (parents, faculty, staff) that makes this particular campus exceptional."

- Dr. Audrey Boklage, Director of Curriculum for UT Engineering Makerspace

"While our daughter definitely misses being on campus, we feel fortunate to have her at a school where she is getting more individualized attention and the faculty and staff are making evidence-based decisions related to the learning process."

- Class of '21 Parent

"Hey there, we just wanted to get in your inboxes before the week gets going and let you know how much we appreciate all the work yall are doing - our son has really responded well to all the kinder-Zooming, and we’ve made the chapel services a whole-family event - the whole thing has brought some much-needed structure to this weird, difficult period, but it’s also helped us to focus on the important stuff, like learning and loving each other - it’s just been great."

- Class of '31 Parent

"A note of thanks and encouragement from a mom with 3 kids attempting to work from home. I so appreciate you doing zoom lessons and creating a routine for the kids. Our kids love it. Keep up the good work!"

- Class of '25, '28, and '30 Parent
