Record-Breaking $1M Raised for St. Andrew’s Students

St. Andrew’s parents, faculty, and friends tapped into their generous spirits to raise over $1 million at the Spring Gala for Financial Aid on April 13. These funds directly benefit students who rely on financial assistance to make their dream of a St. Andrew’s education possible.

The Sheth family made a matching gift for the third year in a row, but this year’s pledge was an extraordinary $500,000 match challenge, which the other St. Andrew’s families answered loud and proud.
Auctioneer Logan Thomas rallied attendees to bid big for a worthy cause on live auction items: a dove hunt in Argentina, a weeklong stay in a private Mexican villa, a Coronado Island getaway, a stay at members-only California Golf Club, a custom Diana Greenberg painting, a private dinner at Uchiko, a downtown Austin staycation package, and a Texas landscape/wildlife painting by Malou Flato.

This year’s Gala Chairs, St. Andrew’s parents Shana Anderson, Sarah Queen, Lisa Tully, coordinated a parent volunteer committee to create the memorable evening at The JW Marriott hotel in downtown Austin. “We are so grateful to our volunteer committee, St. Andrew’s faculty and staff, and our sponsors who are so committed to this cause,” said co-chair Sarah Queen. “We are thrilled this was such a successful event for our school and our students!”

The Reverend Whitney Kirby offered a blessing of gratitude for the giving hearts in attendance, and Head of School Sean Murphy reiterated that gratitude, saying, “ We want to ensure that all bright, motivated, and talented students have access to a St. Andrew’s education no matter their financial situation or personal difficulties. Thank you for helping us make that possible tonight.”

Local rock band Skyrocket closed the evening with all the favorite pop-rock hits that had guests dancing the night away.

All proceeds from the Gala go toward St. Andrew’s Financial Aid program, ensuring its doors remain open to the best and brightest students regardless of their socioeconomic status.
