Sophomore harpist Anna Booth auditioned and was selected by a panel of judges for the Texas Music Educators Association All-Region Honor Orchestra. In November, students from numerous Austin area high schools participated in two days of rehearsals led by guest conductor, Stephen Heyde, Professor of Orchestral Studies and Conductor-in-Residence at Baylor University.
Mr. Heyde led this amazing group of musicians for their evening concert at the beautiful Austin ISD Performing Arts Center. From the stage during the concert, Mr. Heyde was very complimentary to these wonderful musicians. He said they worked very hard and were a joy to teach and conduct. He wishes that every city in America had student musicians like these in Austin -- he believes the world would be a happier place.
Anna represented herself and St. Andrew's very well. We are so proud of her. Congratulations, Anna!
