Student leadership is the hallmark of the Middle School experience. Our “House” program brings sixth-, seventh- and eighth-graders together in teams on a weekly basis to plan and lead team-building activities for their peers. By assuming leadership roles, students learn how to strategize, work with others, improvise, and handle success and failure. As our Middle School dean of students says, “This is experiential learning at its finest.”
While the House program brings students together to lead, the Advisory program brings students to faculty members for advice and support. Faculty advisors guide students in dealing with self-management, social and self-awareness, building relationships, and responsible decisionmaking.
Throughout the year, the House and Advisory programs are complemented by a purposeful integration of fun and celebration. Whether planning a student fundraising initiative or joining one of the many MS clubs, students enjoy a safe, creative environment for learning.
