Pinkerton ‘21 SXSW Innovation Finalist

Alex Pinkerton ‘21 is a finalist in this year’s SXSW Interactive Innovation Awards!  His project Brane Interface (braneinterface.com) is a brain-computer interface, with potential applications that could allow paralyzed people to regain motion.  There are 65 finalists from 13 countries and he’s the only finalist under age 18.
Alex’s mom, Claire, explains how Alex got inspired for this project, “Alex started tinkering with his dad—who is an entrepreneur and inventor with a lab—last winter. This project has been outside of school, although Alex has been using things he’s learned in his chemistry, physics and algebra classes at St. Andrew’s.”

Alex will be exhibiting at SXSW on Saturday, March 9. If you’ve got a badge, be sure to swing by his exhibit - good luck, Alex, and congratulations!
