SAS Juniors place 2nd in Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Student of Year program

The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Students of the Year program is a seven-week challenge through which high school student leaders across Central Texas raise funds and awareness for the fight against blood cancers. This year’s campaign ran from January 8th, 2020 to February 28th, 2020.
Students have to be nominated to run as a Students of the Year Candidate. The student team who raises the most funds at the end of the 7 weeks is awarded the title of Students of the Year. This year we had 23 different teams competing.

St. Andrew's juniors Gehrig Zimmerman and Charlie Wellin teamed up to join the program this year. Gehrig ran in Honor of his Mom and Charlie ran in honor of his Aunt. Although Gehrig and Charlie did not win this year’s title, they were runners up, raising well over $50,000 and earning each of them a LLS Mission Impact Award. All the Austin area students involved in the program combined to raise over $925,000 for the cause.
