Geoff Harrison named 5th-12th Girls Soccer Program Director

In addition to his coaching duties, Harrison serves as the Co-Director of Curriculum and Instruction in the Lower School at St. Andrew's.

 

"I am thrilled that Geoff has accepted our offer to lead our Girls Soccer program," McCrary shared. "He is uniquely qualified for this opportunity, and his connection at all three divisions and both campuses, along with his experience leading our Middle School program for years, will enable him to hit the ground running."

 

For the past six seasons, Harrison has been the Head Middle School Soccer Coach for the Highlanders. In addition, he has coached both Cross Country and Track & Field at the 5th-8th grade level at St. Andrew's as well.

 

"I am excited for the opportunity to be the Girls Soccer Program Director," Harrison commented. "I look forward to developing leadership qualities in our athletes as we aspire to be competitive in games, as well as in life."

 

Previously, Harrison served as the Head Varsity Girls Soccer Coach in the 2014-2015 and 2015-2016 seasons, before receiving the opportunity to become the Lower School Co-Director of Curriculum and Instruction.

 

Grubb remarked: "Geoff has the wonderful combination of experience, expertise, and rapport with students to successfully lead this program."

 

Before arriving in Austin, Harrison was an impactful coach in several sports at multiple schools in the Northeast. All told, he has spent over a decade each as a Head Coach of Soccer, Cross Country, and Track & Field.

 

In addition, Harrison holds his Advanced National Diploma and Premier Diploma from the United Soccer Coaches, formerly known as the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.

 

"A true teacher-coach, Geoff understands what high school athletics are all about, striving together toward a common goal and making a commitment to continual improvement," Courchesne stated. "We are pleased to have someone at the helm with a true awareness of our K-12 program."

 

Harrison started out his collegiate soccer career at Stonehill College, and finished at the University of Oregon.
