ELIZABETH QUANAIM TABBED AS NEW VARSITY VOLLEYBALL/PROGRAM COORDINATOR

St. Andrew’s School Athletic Director Jeff McCrary has appointed former National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I Player and USA Volleyball Coach Elizabeth Quanaim to the position of Head Varsity Volleyball Coach/Program Coordinator.

Quanaim takes over the helm from Jesse Sultzer who recently accepted an assistant coach position at Stanford University.

The Texas native most recently served as coach for USA Volleyball, and presently with the Austin Junior Volleyball Team. During her more than 15 years with the club she has twice garnered coach of the year honors in 2005 and 2012.
“While we are saddened to see Coach Sultzer leave Austin we certainly wish him and his family all the best as he returns to the collegiate coaching world,” McCrary said. “We are completely elated to welcome in someone of Coach Quanaim's experience and caliber as the CRU set our sights on another successful season from the varsity on down.”

No stranger to the Southwest Preparatory Conference (SPC), Quanaim was the bench boss for the Spartans of St. Stephen’s School (Austin) for five seasons while also assisting with the squad from St. Michael’s Academy (Austin).

During her time with USA Volleyball, she has coached numerous teams throughout the country in a variety of coaching roles.

"I'm excited and honored to join the St. Andrew's volleyball family," Quanaim said. "I'd like to thank the athletic staff for welcoming me in, and I look forward to continuing the high standards of success set by these student-athletes, both on and off the court."

Following her time at Hastings High School (Houston), Quanaim went on to have a successful three-year NCAA DI career for the Longhorns of the University of Texas-Austin before obtaining her master's degree as well.
