Vienna Boys Choir Visit Inspires Student Vocalists

St. Andrew’s hosted the world-renowned Vienna Boys Choir this month at the Upper School’s Dell Fine Arts Center. One of our own Upper School vocalists in Select Choir, Lana Soileau ‘18, attended the performance on November 2. She said, “I heard from multiple people that seeing this choir was on their bucket list, and it's so amazing that we were able to hear them right in our backyard.” One of her favorite songs they sang was “Inneggiamo, il Signor Non e Morto” because “It's a song I've sung before and they did it so beautifully.”
Reflecting on this momentous occasion, Dr. David Guidi, Fine Arts Department Chair, remarked, “St. Andrew's students have the opportunity to take part in a wide variety of fine arts offerings. They are consistently recognized in competitions, travel extensively to feature their work, and our choir students routinely perform at Carnegie Hall. But this was a first for us, bringing an international vocal group with such a rich legacy to our campus to inspire audiences and artists of all ages."

As Select Choir prepares their holiday repertoire, Lana said, “I'm so excited for our Christmas season coming up. We get to sing at a lot of different places across Austin and it's my favorite time to be in choir.” See our Select Choir perform this holiday season!
