FAQ's

What is St. Andrew's Day?
It's an annual tradition celebrating our patron saint and the members of our community dedicated to serving others (This year we celebrate on the actual feast day of Saint Andrew). The entire K-12 school community attends a chapel service at the Upper School gym with a Holy Eucharist, special music, awards, and a sermon. All parents and alumni, along with Episcopal priests from the Austin area, are invited to join in the celebration. After the service, a school-wide luncheon is held.

If my child is in the Lower or Middle School, do I need to drive them to the Upper School?
No, you should follow your usual drop-off procedure at the 31st Street campus in the morning. Students will ride St. Andrew's busses with their teachers to and from the Upper School campus.

Can I pick-up my child from the Upper School campus at 12:30 pm rather than wait for them to return to the Lower/Middle School campus for carpool?
Yes, but you must notify in advance their homeroom teachers/advisors and admins Lindsey Leinweber (Lower School) and Paula Milton (Middle School).

Are parents and alumni invited to attend St. Andrew's Day?
Yes! No RSVP required. Find a seat in the Upper School gymnasium by 9:30 am.

I'd like to help out on St. Andrew's Day, what should I do?
We would love your help! Sign-up to volunteer  or contact parent volunteers Nicky Brennig (nbrennig@jw.com) and Jennifer Roossien (jenroossien@att.net) with any questions.

Does my student need to wear a jacket/sport coat and tie?
No. This year we are following semi-formal dress guidelines, which are identical to formal dress except no jacket or tie requirement. Lunch is served outdoors on the Nazro Green, so be prepared for weather accordingly.
