Upper School

A Welcome Letter

Thank you for visiting St. Andrew’s Episcopal School – home of the Crusaders. We are incredibly proud of our school and our Athletic Program. At St. Andrew’s School, our students have the opportunity to be a part of 22 different Varsity teams in a wide variety of competitive individual and team sports. Overall, we form nearly 90 different teams from grades 5 through 12.

St. Andrew’s teams are organized by grade-level, skill, and degree of competitiveness. At the high school level, we have Varsity and Junior Varsity teams for boys and girls. Our Varsity teams compete as members of the Southwest Preparatory Conference (SPC), a highly competitive conference. The SPC is comprised of 17 different schools in Texas and Oklahoma, which are all rigorous academic schools and members of the Independent Schools Association of the Southwest (ISAS). Our lower and middle school students participate in the Austin Inter-Parochial League (AIPL).
St. Andrew's recognizes and celebrates the strong link that exists between high academic achievement and participation in athletics, as over 80% of our students compete as a member of at least one team, and many compete on two or more teams during the school year. The structure of our conferences (SPC for Upper School, AIPL for Lower and Middle School) are such that there is no overlap in seasons, which allow our student-athletes to flow straight from one season to the next.
If you’re wondering if St. Andrew’s is the right place for you, it most definitely is! If your child needs an entry level experience, where skills are taught and students are encouraged to develop their individual athletic gifts in a positive caring environment, then St. Andrew’s is the place for you. Our coaches are experienced, enthusiastic teachers who take the time to teach the fundamentals, while helping each student develop work ethic, dedication, perseverance, and character. If your child is looking for an competitive program that has a long and proud history of championship teams and individuals, where he or she can take their game to the next level, then St. Andrew’s is certainly the place for your family. Our teams have won multiple SPC and AIPL Championships, and we look forward to celebrating more in the years ahead!
We boast an incredibly talented, experienced, and caring group of coaches. St. Andrew’s student-athletes have been named All-SPC and All-South Zone innumerable times, and our kids have also received a variety academic-athletic based awards. A Crusader student-athlete is truly recognized as one of the best and brightest!
Please visit the other pages and links on our website to learn more about St. Andrew’s Athletics and the broader school community. We are excited to share our story with you, and we hope that you will feel that same enthusiasm as you learn more about us.
We invite each of you to come and join our team of Crusaders!
