  • Tuesday, August 20

    New Student Orientation
    11:00 am - 2:00 pm
    Meet in Upper School Chapel
    Bring your school laptop
    New students will get acquainted with their schedule, the dining hall, and meet their advisor. Students should bring their laptop so the IT team can check for proper configuration. Lunch is provided. Contact: Kate Jones, kjones@sasaustin.org
  • Wednesday, August 21

    First Day of School (Early Dismissal)
    8:45 am - 2:15 pm
    Students will gather in their advisory groups for the traditional procession into Chapel. (Parents are welcome to campus for the procession.) A brief Chapel service will be held, followed by class rotations to meet teachers.

    Attire - Student attire should be Semi-Formal, one of the following combinations:
    • Dress shirt (tucked in and buttoned), belt, slacks, dress shoes
    • Dress or skirt (length appropriate for occasion and comfortable to sit in) and blouse, dress shoes
    • Do not wear flip-flops, athletic shoes, or jeans
    Transportation - A morning bus will run from 31st Street campus to Upper School at 7:50 am. An afternoon bus will leave Upper School for 31st Street campus at 2:30 pm.

    Practices & Rehearsals will run 4:15-6:15 pm. Students are welcome to remain on campus from 2:30 to 4:15 for self-directed free time.

  • Thursday, August 22

    Overnight Retreats for 9th & 12th Grades
    9th grade meets on Dell Fine Arts Center porch, departs campus for Camp Balcones Springs in Marble Falls at 8:30 am. Students must complete the SAS Retreat form by August 8 and bring a completed Liability Waiver form with them on August 22. These documents and a packing list have been provided in an email from Kate Jones. Contact: Kate Jones, kjones@sasaustin.org

    12th grade departs campus at 9:00 am for Camp Balcones Springs in Marble Falls. Students must complete the SAS Retreat form by August 12 and submit a completed Liability Waiver form to their advisor by August 21. These documents and a packing list have been provided in an email from Chad Fulton. Contact: Chad Fulton, cfulton@sasaustin.org
