Varsity Cross Country Opens Season, Claims Second Place
The St. Andrew’s varsity cross country teams opened up their 2016 season with impressive showings at the Dripping Spring Invitational.
Both squads finished second among the field of high schools, with the boys registering a score of 44, and the girls coming in at 57, both behind host Dripping Springs High School.
The gentlemen were paced by a finish that included five runners placing in the top 12, including senior Addison Brown’s sixth place showing at 18:39.7.
On the ladies side of the meet, junior Helen Murphy was the second overall runner to cross the finish line with a time of 21:21.3.
The team will next compete on Saturday, August 27 at the New Braunfels Invitational.
