Crusader Spotlight

Every week the St. Andrew's School Athletics Department will provide insight into a current or former student-athlete, coach, Crusader trivia, or fun fact.
Former St. Andrew’s School assistant girls' soccer and lacrosse coach Liz Conant went on to have a successful coaching career at the NCAA level.

Following her two-year stint at SAS in 2008 and 2009, the Massachusetts resident returned home to take over the reins of the same two programs at Regis College (Weston, MA).

Conant went on to garner New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Coach of the Year honors in both soccer and lacrosse during the 2012-13 school year.

In addition, she led both programs to NECC finals and a championship in lacrosse. She also holds the title of all-time winningest coach in soccer, and up until 2015, for lacrosse as well.

When asked about her experiences at St. Andrew's and how it prepared her for the success that ensued on the college level, Conant explained, "I loved coaching girls' soccer and lacrosse at SAS while I was living in Austin getting my masters degree. The SAS student-athletes and their parents were amazing. Smart, driven and motivated athletes, along with caring and involved parents. Coaching at SAS helped me to see the value of sport in the lives of young people. Although some time has passed, in my current role of Assistant Professor of Sport Management, I often still share and reflect on my extremely positive SAS coaching experiences. Go CRU!"
