Originally from Charlotte, NC, Damion graduated from West Charlotte High School in 2000 where he enjoyed a stellar basketball career highlighted by winning the North Carolina state title in 1999. Damion's coach for that team was his father, Gosnell White, one of North Carolina’s all-time greatest high school basketball coaches.

Damion's West Charlotte team ended that year ranked #8 in the USA Today top 25 poll.

 

Upon graduating from West Charlotte, Damion went on to a year of post graduate prep school at Phillip’s Academy in Andover, MA where he played varsity football, basketball, and ran track.

 

Following his time there, Damion accepted an academic scholarship to attend Davidson College, where he walked on to the basketball team. His team went on to win the Southern Conference and compete in the 2002 NCAA tournament. He was also the starting quarterback and a 3-year letter winner in football during his time at Davidson. Damion graduated from Davidson in 2006 with a degree in sociology.

 

Damion has also worked many prestigious basketball camps including Five Star, Coach K’s Duke Basketball Camps and Bob McKillop’s Basketball Camps at Davidson College.

 

Most recently, Damion served as head coach for the Regents 3A Middle School girls’ basketball team, where they finished the year strong with two post season victories.

 

Damion is also the Austin director of Pro-Skills Basketball.
