As Head of School, Melissa Grubb is deeply committed to nurturing a community where students are known, challenged, and supported.
With more than 30 years of experience in independent school education, Melissa brings a deep appreciation for the ability of independent schools to prepare students for college and beyond. She is drawn to St. Andrew’s Episcopal School for its Episcopal values and its commitment to forming exemplary scholars, artists, athletes, and servants in a joyful, caring environment. Whether cheering on students at a game, attending a performance, or stopping by classrooms, Melissa values being present in the everyday life of the school.
Outside of campus, Melissa and her husband, Tom, enjoy traveling, exploring Austin’s vibrant restaurant scene, and soaking up the endless joy of being grandparents to their two young granddaughters.
As Associate Head of School, Alice Nezzer ’81 brings a thoughtful, steady presence to St. Andrew’s, supporting students and educators across the full K–12 experience.
Alice has been part of the St. Andrew’s community since 1980, when her mother, Lucy Nazro, began her tenure as Head of School - an enduring connection that reflects her deep love for the school and its mission. In her role, Alice oversees the school’s robust professional development program, leads growth and development for faculty and staff, and works intentionally to strengthen a connected, collaborative K–12 community. She is inspired by St. Andrew’s commitment to developing scholars, artists, athletes, and servants and values the partnerships that help educators and students alike thrive. Outside of school, Alice enjoys Longhorn football, the Houston Astros, her two corgis, reading and travel. Alice and her husband, Mike, have two daughters who graduated from St. Andrew’s Upper School.
As Upper School Division Head, Dr. Steven Fletcher is passionate about guiding students through one of the most formative seasons of their lives.

From everyday conversations in the hallway to milestone moments like graduation, he values relationships built on trust, encouragement, and mutual respect. Outside of school, Dr. Fletcher enjoys spending time with his family, exploring Austin for its Live Music scene, and often finding inspiration in experiences that reflect the curiosity and energy of students. He and his wife Ileabeth have a son and daughter who attend St. Andrew’s Lower School.
Middle School is a time of tremendous growth, and Tim Moore delights in walking alongside students during these important years.

He is drawn to St. Andrew’s for the way curiosity, creativity, and character development are intentionally woven into daily life, and he finds great joy in watching students gain confidence as they discover who they are and what they care about. Outside of school, Tim enjoys hiking and camping in West Texas - especially in Big Bend - where time outdoors offers both perspective and renewal. He and his wife, Annie, are parents to a young son, Andrew, who keeps life full of wonder and adventure.
