Upper School Students Receive Creative Writing Awards
This December, Upper School students submitted writing to the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, a program which describes itself as “the nation’s longest-running, most prestigious recognition program for creative teens.”
Each year, they give awards by region for student work based on originality and skill. Those awards range from Honorable Mentions, Silver Key Awards, and Gold Key Awards. Gold Key winners will be automatically entered into a nationwide competition in the spring.
Past winners include Truman Capote, Sylvia Plath, John Updike, Joyce Carol Oates, Stephen King, Lena Dunham, Amanda Gorman, and as of this week, six of our very own students.
