17th Annual SAS Cross Country Invitational Returns to Tuhabonye Trail

Over 1,000 athletes returned to the trails on St. Andrew’s Southwest Parkway Campus for the 17th Annual SAS Cross Country Invitational this September. 
Middle School and Upper School Highlanders athletes were joined by area cross country runners to compete in St. Andrew’s Cross Country Invitational the second weekend in September. 

“More than 1,000 athletes from 65 teams competed at the 17th Annual SAS Cross Country Invitational this weekend,” said Kristen Benjamin, Associate Athletics Director and Girls Basketball Program Director. “Following last year’s construction detour, the meet returned to its home course on the Tuhabonye Trail. Thank you to the parents and coaches whose volunteer support made the event a success.”

Middle School Meet— SAS Highlights

  • 953 athletes ran in the meet
  • Two first place team finishes (5/6 boys and 5/6 girls) 
  • Two individual champions - Ellie H. and Ed P.
  • 10 Top 20 finishes - Vanessa J., Lily W., Emmie Grace H., Elliot G., Ella W., Ed P., Beau O., Greyson B-H, Tucker D., and Levi W.

Upper School Meet— SAS Highlights

  • 311 athletes ran in the meet
  • Varsity Boys Team Finished in 2nd place 

Four SAS Varsity boys finished in the top 20
  • Milo A. - Finished 3rd
  • Cyrus S. - Finished 5th
  • Alex S. - Finished 6th
  • Henry F. - Finished 14th

SAS JV Boys had two athletes place in the top 20
  • Loki E. - Placed 17th
  • Tres S. III - Placed 19th

Three Varsity Girls finished in top 20
  • Marina O. - Placed 2nd
  • Sophia K. - Placed 9th
  • Sofia R. - Placed 12th
