Trisha Tuck Takes Over Varsity Girls Basketball

St. Andrew’s is delighted to announce the hiring of Trisha Tuck to be the Head Varsity Girls Basketball Coach. Additionally, Coach Tuck will serve as the girls basketball program coordinator from grades 5 through 12. This past season, Coach Tuck served as the Assistant Varsity Girls Basketball Coach at St. Andrew’s. She takes over the program from Madeline Moviel, who moved to Colorado to pursue a degree in nursing.
Prior to her time at St. Andrew’s, Coach Tuck was the Assistant Varsity Coach at St. Michael’s for two years and also coached the 6th grade team at St. Gabriel’s. Additionally, Coach Tuck works with a select basketball program, the Texas Warriors Elite, and formerly coached for the Austin Wildcats for three years.

Coach Tuck attended Stephenville High School where she played Varsity basketball for 4 years. After graduating high school, she moved on to Weatherford Junior College. She played two years for the Weatherford Coyotes, earning Academic All American and graduating with her Associate’s Degree. At that point, Coach Tuck then transferred to The University of Texas to finish school. While in school, she began coaching select basketball and fell in love with coaching. In 2012, she graduated from UT with her Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Culture and Sport with a specialization in coaching.

Coach Tuck states, “I am very fortunate to continue working with this program and with the entire St. Andrew's community. I knew I was a part of something special last year, and I am looking forward to building on the success we had. Thank you, to Jeff McCrary for the opportunity to lead this amazing group of young women.”

Madeline Moviel said of the hire, “I am thrilled to learn that Trisha Tuck will be taking over as Head Coach. She is extremely passionate and knowledgeable about the game of basketball.  More importantly, Trisha is focused on developing strong, young women both on and off the court by setting a positive example of character, integrity, and commitment. I have no doubt this program will continue to flourish under her leadership knowing Coach Tuck will foster an enjoyable, yet competitive basketball environment at St. Andrew's."
