Whether you graduated from our first sixth-grade Class of 1956 or our newest Alumni from the Class of 2025, we invite you to visit - and visit often!

Our school is rich with history and has grown tremendously for more than 70 years, and all of our alumni have been a part of our wonderful legacy. Continued alumni support and involvement is vital for ensuring that future alumni can lead lives of purpose and excellence. So, no matter when you last stepped foot on campus, we hope you’ll visit soon!

Catherine Osborn '08, 2025 Outstanding Alumni Winner

This year, we are proud to present the Outstanding Alumni Award to Catherine Osborn, Class of 2008, in recognition of her remarkable achievements in global journalism.
Catherine is fluent in both Spanish and Portuguese and earned her degree in Latin American Studies at Yale University. She has built a distinguished career reporting from Brazil, where she brings depth and clarity to some of the more complex issues facing Latin America.
Her reporting spans topics such as green industrial policy in Colombia, the balance between climate goals and fiscal realities in Ecuador, and the diplomacy of migration policy throughout the Americas. Her work has been featured by NPR, PRX’s The World, and Foreign Affairs, and she is also part of the writing team for a global foreign policy newsletter at the Council on Foreign Relations, reaching more than 70,000 daily readers.
In addition, Catherine has served as a nonresident fellow at the Wilson Center’s Latin America Program, where she contributes interviews and analysis on key developments across the region.

Catherine was nominated by her English teacher, Ms. Kimberly Horne, who remarked, “Catherine is one of the finest human beings I have ever met. She's incredibly accomplished and also incredibly humble. She's achieved a great deal at a young age, and one of the coolest moments I've had involving an alum was driving home one day from work and hearing her voice on NPR.”
Through her thoughtful, ethical, and deeply informed journalism, Catherine embodies the values of intellectual curiosity, global engagement, and integrity that define our alumni community.

Catherine could not join us for our St. Andrew’s Day service this year, as she was on location covering the UN Climate Conference. The holiday season brought Catherine back to Austin, and while she was in town, she visited our Upper School Journalism classes. We were finally able to present Catherine with her plaque during Chapel.

Alumni Reunion Weekend 2025

On April 11 & 12, St. Andrew’s welcomed back the milestone Classes of 2005, 2010, 2015 and 2020 to celebrate their 20th, 15th, 10th, and 5th year Reunions, respectively.
Alumni at Homecoming 2024

It was so wonderful to see so many Alumni at our annual Homecoming Celebration. Between the first lap of our 18th Annual PE Fun Run to former SAS Parent, Allison Baker, and our Alumni Homecoming Tailgate, our campus was buzzing with current and former families.

Allison Baker was a parent of four St. Andrew's students - Temple, Treeman, Cole, and Katherine. Through their years in our Lower School PE program, Allison spearheaded our Marathon Kids program and started our PE Fun Run. An avid runner herself, she brought the joy of running to our Lower School students. It was so special to see our SAS Community join us in celebrating the life and service of Allison Baker by walking/running the first lap of this year's Fun Run in her honor. We hope to see you at next year's Homecoming Celebration!

Alumni visit with Faculty in Los Angeles

Thank you, SAS Alumni for a special LA visit!

Last week our @sascollegecounseling team was in Los Angeles for the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) annual conference. Of course, no visit to LA is complete without visiting with our former students, who came out for campus tours, lunches, and our big LA Alumni Dinner. It was so special to gather with alumni from 2003 to 2024 who have settled in the Los Angeles area.

Photo 2: Jack Guttell ’18 hosted Chad Fulton, Evie Dewey ‘23, Courtney Elliott and Sarah Baldino for lunch at HomeState, the restaurant he manages. Jack graduated from Loyola Marymount University in LA, where Evie is now asophomore.

Senior Dinner, Honoring the Class of 2024

To kick off graduation week, the Class of 2024 received an early welcome into the St. Andrew's Alumni Association at their Senior Dinner. This event was created to celebrate our newest classes of alumni as they join the ranks of the many St. Andrew’s graduates who have come before them. Alumni volunteers and donors were in attendance, including this year’s Senior Dinner speaker, Irfan Alam ‘14, who shared how his St. Andrew’s relationships and experiences at St. Andrew’s have held strong through life’s various milestones. 2024 Senior Dinner Speaker: Irfan Alam '14

We are so pleased to announce that Irfan Alam of the Class of 2014 will serve as our Alumni Speaker at the Senior Dinner, honoring the Class of 2024.

Irfan attended Bowdoin College, where he served as the Student Body President, Chair of the Treasury, and Representative to the Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees, among many other impressive leadership positions. He went on to attend Harvard Business School, but made a decision to defer after one year to develop his own business.

Irfan is a Forbes Austin 30 under 30 honoree, after he raised $3 million to launch Frontrow Health, where he is Founder and CEO. You can read more about the development of Frontrow here!

Check out Aurora on Friday-Sunday at 8:30 PM in North Austin this weekend and next weekend. The show runs approximately an hour and ten minutes. Tickets can be purchased on Bottle Alley's website.

It was wonderful to host our annual Reunion Weekend this month. This year, we welcomed back the classes of 2004, 2009, 2014 and 2019 for their milestone reunion celebrations.

Remembering Trent Wilson '09

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Trent McBee Wilson on January 22, 2024, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He was 33 years old.

Trent was born March 4, 1990 and raised in Austin, Texas by his proud parents, Lauren and Sterling Wilson. He was the loving twin brother to Grant Kimbell Wilson.

Trent was a “Lifer” at St. Andrew’s Episcopal School, attending from 1st through 12th grade, where he developed deep friendships and excelled at sports. He served as Captain of the Varsity Golf and Football teams. Golf was Trent’s first love and he became a state ranked golfer and served as President of the Austin Junior Golf Association. He loved that you could spend time outside with people you enjoy and he embodied the spirit of the game, exhibiting good sportsmanship and courteousness to other players. Much of this was learned under the guidance of his coach and dear friend, Ann Marie Gildersleeve. Trent was also an avid snow skier, spending Christmas vacations on the slopes in New Mexico and Colorado. As a young boy, he was named by NASTAR as the fastest skier in his age group for the state of Texas.

With his parents and twin brother, Trent spent many summers traveling the world. Some of his family adventures included snorkeling with sea lions in the Galapagos Islands, bungee jumping at Victoria Falls, paragliding in the Swiss Alps, hiking Machu Picchu and scuba diving with sharks in Fiji. Trent played one of his favorite rounds of golf in Angkor Wat, Cambodia.

At the University of Alabama, Trent majored in Business with a specialty in Sales and was an enthusiastic fan of the Crimson Tide. He was a member of Beta Theta Pi fraternity. Upon graduation, Trent married the love of his life, Kristy Lee Cole, and embraced his role as a stepfather to Oscar Cole. His greatest joy was being a father to daughter, Mary-Sterling, named after his father.

Trent was employed by AFFLINK in Internal Business Development. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed disc golf and hunting. Trent could build anything and almost singlehandedly remodeled their home. He loved animals, especially dogs. His warm smile and friendly laugh reflected his kind, personable nature.

Trent was preceded in death by his father, Sterling Wilson, and his grandfather, Sam Wilson.

Trent is survived by his wife, Kristy Cole, stepson Oscar Cole and daughter, Mary-Sterling; mother, Lauren Wilson (Bill) Kerr; brother Grant (Kimberly) Wilson, stepsister Isabelle Kerr; grandparents Sonia Wilson of Austin, TX, Lee and Marilyn Enz of Lake Forest, IL; aunts and uncles Steve and Nancy Wilson of Austin, TX, Sharon Wilson of Austin, TX, Ed and Carolyn Kyritz of New Canaan, CT; cousins Brooke and Lydia Wilson, Catherine (Greg) Henson, Caroline Chlebowski, Claire (David) Pruitt, Kendall (Conor) Griffin, Courtney and Tom Kyritz; mother- and father-in-law Dale and Vanessa Cole; brother-in-law Matthew Cole and Brittany Wilemon (fiancé); sister-in-law Alesha (MSgt Lee P USAF) Phillips; nieces and nephew Gillie, Chandler and Brett Phillips.

Should you wish to make a memorial contribution, gifts may be made in Trent’s name to St. Andrew’s Episcopal School, 1112 West 31st Street, Austin, Texas, 78705. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Alums run NYC Marathon

Congratulations to our SAS alums for finishing the 2023 NYC Marathon. Sophie Dolan ’16, Pouya Mohammadi ’17, Evans Miller ’10 and Maggie Miller ’13 ran the 26.2 miles through all 5 boroughs of New York City in November.
Stone Mountain '18 Nominated Best Performance in an Off-Broadway Musical

Stone Mountain '18 has been nominated for Best Performance in the Off-Broadway musical, A Musical About Star Wars. Stone played the role of Taylor in the show, marking his Off-Broadway/New York debut.
The show was originally supposed to run for 8 weeks, but was extended twice with raving reviews and sold-out performances at the AMT Theater near Times Square.

We’ve gleefully sung these words from our St. Andrew’s Fight Song, but our 2023 Outstanding Alumni Award winner put them into action when it mattered most.
Alumni Lead Upper School Business & Entrepreneurship Class

This semester, St. Andrew's alums Merritt Bury Rasmussen ‘09 and Whitney Langston ‘09 have been teaching a Business & Entrepreneurship class at the Upper School, exploring a range of topics with different alumni speakers. On November 15, the students took a trip to the Yeti corporate office for a tour (thanks to Allie Zodin ‘11), and began their final project presentations.
Courtney Elliott visits Alums in Boston

While traveling for college visits, college counselor Courtney Elliott caught up with some alumni in the Boston area!

Along the way, she got to connect with Evelyn Berry '21 who is a junior at Smith studying Government and Spanish (double major) and Lorelei Ing '20, a senior at Smith majoring in Biology who studied coral reefs in an internship in Miami over the summer.

Ms. Elliott also got to catch up with William Sykes '23 who is especially enjoying a 15-person seminar class at Harvard about the Death Penalty, Sophia Singh '23 who is enjoying her Gender and Pop Culture class at Northeastern and looking forward to pursuing more of her marketing major in London next semester, and Josephine Willman '21 who is a Film and Media Studies major and Environmental Studies co-major at Tufts. She is part of the Harvard Ballet Company and looks forward to studying in Copenhagen next semester.
Grace Kago '06: Breaking Language Barriers in Science

Grace Kago '06 is a recent Ph.D. graduate and current postdoctoral fellow at UT Austin. She was recently interviewed about one of her projects: breaking down language barriers when it comes to sharing public health information.
