Former NCAA DI Soccer Star Schassler Named Girls Varsity Soccer Benchboss

St. Andrew’s is excited to announce the hiring of Jennifer Schassler to be the Head Varsity Girls Soccer Coach. Additionally, Schassler will serve as the girls’ soccer program coordinator for grades 5 through 12.

She will also be joining St. Andrew’s in a full-time capacity as a member of the newly created Upper School Physical Education Department.
The New York native, won a high school state soccer championship for North Rockland High School, where she is a member of the hall of fame. Following her secondary school career, she moved onto the NCAA Division I level as a member of the University at Albany women’s soccer program.

"We are thrilled to have 'Coach S' joining the St. Andrew's family in her multiple roles,” Athletic Director Jeff McCrary said. “She has done fantastic work at Marymount as both a strength and conditioning coach and fitness instructor, and her background in soccer is varied and strong. I am excited for Coach S to lead our girls' soccer program, and her presence as a full-time coach will give her the capacity to raise the level of that program."

Schassler previously taught and coached the varsity girls’ soccer team at Marymount High School in California and junior varsity head at Yorktown High School in New York.

Upon her appointment Schassler said, "I am looking forward to this new opportunity to work with St. Andrew’s students and collaborate with the staff to expand the athletic department. Using my past playing and coaching experiences on the soccer field, I am excited to help grow the Girls Varsity Soccer Program."
